Kà is the first Cirque du Soleil show to have a cohesive storyline. Ka is the story of imperial twins who are separated at the prime of their youth and must undergo a rite of passage of self-discovery. It is about their encounters with Kà, the fire that has the dual power to destroy or illuminate.

The production is a true masterpiece in storytelling, showcasing stunning acrobatics, strong martial arts, dazzling pyrotechnics, and breathtaking aerial stunts. According to the Los Angeles Times, it might be the most extravagant show in Western theater history, and it is undoubtedly the most technologically advanced. The New York Times also commended the technical aspects of the show, with its stunning effects amplified by the enormous dimensions of the performance space. The show premiered in February 2005.
