Jonathan Deans is a highly acclaimed and sought-after theatrical sound designer, renowned for his exceptional sound systems and designs that can be experienced on stages and in venues worldwide.

He is well-known for his innovative approach to immersive sound, providing a unique sonic experience that captures the dynamics and emotions of each event, while complementing the visual and musical content to create a lasting impression.

With a focus on creating bespoke systems for each venue, Jonathan has designed sound for over fifteen Cirque du Soleil productions, including LOVE, KA, MindFreak, Viva Elvis, O, Mystere, La Nouba, and Saltimbanco, among others.

He has also created sound designs for more than twenty Broadway shows, such as Jagged Little Pill, for which he was Tony-nominated, Waitress, Finding Neverland, Pippin, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, and La Cage aux Folles, which earned him Tony and Drama Desk nominations.

Jonathan is proud to be a guest and Mentor via Zoom with Students, Schools and various Sound Companies.

Jonathan was Keynote Speaker for Live Design International’s convention in Las Vegas. Guest Lecturer and taught MFA Sound Design classes at UCSD.
